Maintaining their comfort During your senior cat’s exam the doctor will obtain a thorough history, and perform a “nose-to-tail” exam, paying close attention to physical exam findings related to the above changes. Performing diagnostic tests is an important part of identifying and successfully managing many common age related diseases. Recommended testing may include checking blood pressure, obtaining blood and urine samples, and/or taking X-rays. Depending on your cat’s health status, the doctor may recommend more frequent exams and diagnostics to closely monitor any further changes, and to ensure successful treatment. Advances in feline medicine allow us to provide our senior patients with comprehensive care for happier, healthier, more comfortable lives.
